Terms of Reference

  • Take responsibility for Finance and Control (F&C) activities in assigned scope which may be a GVL farm, materials unit, a division of company, or a F&C function, with posting to Sinoe or Grand Kru
  • Implement assigned GVL’s financial policies
  • Develop, manage and control approved budgets
  • Manage and control treasury function for assigned scope including farm payroll
  • Prepare monthly cash flow projections, statements & actual versus projected analysis
  • Manage financial and asset risks
  • Conduct monthly reviews and evaluations of actual cost incurred against budget
  • Conduct cost-control evaluations and initiatives
  • Manage and consolidate financial and management accounting stipulated by GVL policies and management decisions for the assigned scope
  • Supervise staff in the assigned F&C department sections
  • Coach, train and continuously guide your F&C staff to achieve high proficiency and professionalism in all accounting, financial administration and business control processes
  • Conduct and implement career and succession planning, skills & knowledge transfer and performance evaluation of your team
  • Establish and maintain good labor and social practices in accordance with policies 

Qualifications and Requirements

A. Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • BBA, BSc (Accounting, Management or Administration) Degree. MBA would be an advantage
  • Membership of an accredited professional accounting body (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) an advantage

B. Professional, Proven Work Experience

  • 5-10 years' work experience in a fast paced business operation or corporation
  • 3-5 years experience in the Oil Palm industry
  • 3 years' experience in a Finance & Accounting managerial role having supervised minimum 8 staff
  • Hands on experience with internationally recognized computerized accounting and financial system
  • Track record in meeting financial, compliance and reporting targets
  • Experience in training new finance team members

C. Skills

  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook
  • Financial modeling, review & analysis in an Excel spreadsheet, able to write and utilize formulas
  • SAP multiuser integrated accounting software or other major system
  • Good written (emails & letters) and verbal communications in English
  • Synthesis of information and developing workable implementation plans 

D. Traits

  • Proactive, independent self starter, team player, loyal, honest, helpful, good character

E. Note

  • An intermediary training & experience building position can be considered by the company for high potential applicants who may not meet all qualifications and requirements initially
