GVL Concludes Training Workshop In Sinoe County

Monrovia – in its ongoing efforts to enhance employees performance and boost productivity, over 50 staff of Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) including Managers, Assistant. Managers and Supervisors completed  a week long Managing Workplace Discipline workshop organized by its Human Resource department in Sinoe County.

Training  of employees allows employers to pinpoint the knowledge and skills they want their employees to have and develop. The  programs  educate employees on  new skills and  provide updates on existing skills to enhance productivity.

GVL Manager for Human Resource and Administration, Daniel Nelson Cephas told the participants that the training is intended to ensure understanding and adherence to disciplinary standards within their respective work areas and urged them to take the training seriously. He further encouraged Managers to ensure that unsatisfactory attitude and poor work performance is promptly addressed and to improve staff morale and promote a positive work environment in their various departments. Mr. Cephas challenged all staff to remain steadfast and focused on their jobs and to do the right thing whether their Seniors are around or not. He emphasized  that Managers and supervisors need to maintain a positive attitude.

The exercise is also in fulfillment of article 11, section 12.1 of the Concession Agreement signed with the government of Liberia which commits the oil palm developer to provide on–the-job  training, vocational training, and undertake whatever other measures that are necessary and reasonable to achieve the development objectives.

Remarking at the close the training, Farm Managers Chris Quarthy, Nupolue Nakamou, Adoni Perdison, James Sackie, and James Samukai lauded the human resources department for organizing such a significant training  and pledged to make good use of the training provided to restore and maintain good standards in the workplace.
