Training For Liberian Staff

Sinoe County, Liberia- About 20 Liberian staff from GVL’s Human Resource Department benefited from a two day HR Interactive Workshop held at the Training Center in Butaw Estate, Sinoe County facilitated by GVL General Manager for Human Resources, Eric Kaye Goll.

The training communicated the role of Human Resources Managers, Assistant Managers, Officers and HR Assistants. The workshop which took place at a newly constructed training and learning center in Butaw brought together HR staffs from Tarjuowon North and South estates, Kpanyan, Butaw, Grand Kru (Wedabo, Garraway and Sorroken)

Speaking at the opening of the HR Interactive Workshop, GVL Chief Executive Officer Patrice Lobet encouraged members of the HR Department to be self-reliant and remain committed to their works and be prompt in the execution of their duties.

The move by the Company is also in line with Article 12, Section 12.1 and Section 21.1 of the Concession Agreement signed with the Government of Liberia which states:

“Investor shall use reasonable efforts to provide for the training of Liberian National with a view towards qualifying them for high positions; the investor shall also provide on-the-job training, vacation training, and undertaker whatever other measures that are necessary and reasonable to archive the objective”.
