GVL / Sinoe County Health Team Concludes Two Days IPC For Clinical Staff In Sinoe
Sinoe County – Continuing efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus in Liberia, Golden Veroleum Liberia in collaboration with The Sinoe County Health Team concluded a two day infection prevention and control training for its clinical staff in Sinoe County. The exercise which brought together clinic staff from across GVL operational areas in Sinoe explained the importance of understanding Infection, Prevention and Control (IPC) of the disease, describing the chain of transmission of the disease, identified the different types of standard precautions and when to use them.
Speaking at the workshop, GVL Communication Coordinator Mr. Alphonso Kofi told participants that the COVID-19 pandemic is real and collective efforts are needed to prevent its spread. He called on all to obey established health regulations as part of the global campaign to crush the coronavirus pandemic. Mr Kofi appreciated the Sinoe County Health Team for conducting such an educational workshop that will help in preventing diseases that could harm and take away humans lives.
Serving as lead facilitator, County Health Office Dr. Johnathan Flomo said although there is no specific cure for the virus, it is important for health practitioners to understand all of the preventive and precautionary measures. He cautioned the participants to take the training very serious as the eradication of the virus squarely rely on health workers. Dr. Flomo who presented on case management said the best way to prevent the virus from spreading is to avoid being exposed to it. He called on participants to learn how COVID-19 spreads and practice to help prevent the spread.
